“2023 Google Summer of Code Program”

The selected projects for Google Summer of Code have been announced, and FreeCAD is participating in the program for the first time on its own, securing 4 slots this year. These projects include a UI tool for fetching online content, an upgrade to the documentation system migrating to a file-based versioned system based on Git and Markdown, a unified measurement facility, and On-machine Inspection for FreeCAD. Each project will have at least two mentors to guide and assist students, who will be encouraged to post updates and interact on the FreeCAD forum.
